Holiday Hello  Glow So Healthy with Kandice Poirier, Certified Health Coach

Are you traveling this holiday? We are! And I know already that it is going to be one stressful trip.

We are taking my husband’s car. Its small! Not as small as my car, though. We are traveling 7 hours, give or take (probably give, considering the little people and their little bladders!). Oh… and the dog. Yeah.. our gigantic french mastiff baby… that weighs more than me.. she’s going, too.

But, in the back seat of a car, with two kids, one in a carseat.. yeah. It will be an adventure, for sure!

Once my family endures and survives our travel adventure, we can focus on family. I am very excited to go spend a few days with my mother in law. I am taking her Christmas gift to her since we won’t be seeing my inlaws for Christmas. I can’t wait to give it to her!! I can’t tell you what it is, though. I will photograph it and post it after she opens it. It DOES have everything to do with health and wellness and she will LOVE it!

So, back to traveling! Are you prepping your food for your holiday travel? I am. I don’t want to be the “freak,” but I also want to make sure I continue to eat properly while we’re away from home. Luckily, with all my bento skills, I have a ton of portable boxes for my food! Thank you Easy Lunchboxes! I wish I had a 6 pack bag!

I’ve been juicing a lot and making smoothies lately, and I’m enjoying that so much I don’t want it to stop. I plan to bake all my chicken ahead of time and some veggies, to take with us. That way I can just re-warm everything in my MIL’s oven. She is like me and she doesn’t believe in microwaves (maybe I’ll write about that, later).

I am also taking my ninja blender (I wish I had a vitamix!) (do y’all like how I’m dropping hints for Santa, in this post!?). Frozen raspberries and blueberries, avocados, bananas, almond milk, and hemp hearts.

For our family Thanksgiving meal, my inlaws all meet up at Ryan’s Buffet. If you’re from the south, y’all know what I’m talking about. If you’re not from our area, I’m not sure if Ryan’s are nation wide? Either way, its a buffet with mediocre “southern” style food. We meet here because its fast, easy, and no one has to clean up. I don’t plan on taking my own food to the restaurant, but I do plan on trying to be smart about what I’m putting in my body… without being the weirdo packing my lunch for the restaurant. I plan to make a smoothie to drink on the way so I’m pretty full when we get there, and I can just grab a salad and maybe indulge in a slice of pumpkin pie, if they have any. Maybe not.
